Got a Call from my buddy Eddy Bullock a few days ago. Said he wanted me to look at a trailer. When I got to his shop, I met my next patient, a 30' trailer Frankensteined together from too-thin wall rectangular tube on top of what once was, to my eyes, a 10 foot 3K# shade tree trailer. With visible cracks, and salt-rot, this thing was barely holding itself together.
My my job is to turn this piece of shit into a 30' long haul beast that carries to art cars 2200 miles from Detroit to Black Rock City. In 4 days. That includes shortening two donor axles, sistering in four new beams, welding in 28 6" right truant gussets, cutting and dropping the ass 8" at an angle to make a beaver tail, and give my stamp of approval. No small task, but nothing too outrageous. (Knocks on wood).
